A Place in the Sun - Home or Away
with Jasmine Harman in Brittany France
Having spent some time in conjunction with a Brittany Estate Agent helping the Place in the Sun crew find locations for filming and good places to eat. I thought we should share some of the pictures we took during the shoot in August 2006. The crew based themselves in the historic market town of Pontivy in the Morbihan department of Brittany for their work in central Brittany.
One problem that kept cropping up was as the crew were following us from location to location they would often slam their brakes on whenever they found a beautiful spot to film - this happened a lot, especially around the Blavet Valley.
Jasmine Harman is charming and even more attractive in the flesh than on television.
Their day was spent filming a couple of house buyers that were looking for a business with a home in Brittany. Which included a large Gite complex for sale in Brittany. The day terminated with the team filming in a small Creperie in Noyal Pontivy trying to flip Crepes. The owner and his clients were very enthusiastic and joined in at the end singing some traditional French party songs - if these make it past the editors cutting room floor who knows...
Outside some already have their place in the sun and life continued at it's normal pace!
They also put some film in the can of a Karting track that is for sale in Brittany, this was for a different program also presented by Jasmine Harman.
The programs are due to be out in the autumn but dates aren't yet fixed. We managed to keep our faces off camera much to everyone's relief I'm sure :) Having been involved in filming some commercials with Jersey Television and now with Channel 4 - I never stop being amazed at how long it takes to get to a wrap. I can only begin to imagine the levels of frustration that must creep into the productions of full length films!
