Very tempting indeed. Who'd like to loan me their Harley?
There is a bar in Dinan where you often see bikers and some have Harley's
I had one in the State for a while. Bought cheap it had been in a bit of bother and was a little twisted but boy was it fun! To buy one in UK or France you're looking at thousands, lots of thousands if you want something new.
I bet, I remember going to some pubs around the Bournemouth/ New Forest area when I was 18 or so and there was often a group of bikers with mostly Harleys and they were so lovely and let the kids sit on the bikes. They made a lot of money for local charties, especially cancer or children. They were so kind to the kids and I got a ride on the back of one, I have a soft spot for the bikes and bikers
I used to live in Poole. Every Tuesday evening hundreds of bikes would turn up and take over the Quay. All well behaved and surprisingly not noisy enough to annoy the local snobs. Lots of money raised for charities by some of the clubs and great entertainment for anyone interested.
Small World, I worked at Barclays International for a few years so know Poole pretty well. Although on a recent visit now full of charity shops and seems very run down. Bikers are very generous with their time.
Amazing. I worked with a team of electricians doing the computer cabling for the Barclays centre before it went live. Small world.
I started work there in the 80's after our A levels, I think Barclay's only occupy 3 floors now and have moved some people into mainland Europe. I enjoyed working there.
